Seven Lines (in order of turning and therefore creation):

1. Jiardo – The most “mortal” of the lines; turns those they want to spend eternity with.
2. Djarvik – Turns the ruthless; adheres to the “human monsters become real monsters” policy.
3. Avera – The largest line, since she turns the best she can find (criteria: intelligence + beauty)
4. Darius - Turns the strong and courageous (“J----‘s Army”)
5. Vlatos (Dracula) – Went insane. Turns on whim, torments mortals.
6. Lazaro – Obsessed with knowledge, so he turns anyone who’s smarter than him in something he’s interested in (and is pretty, too, because he’s like that)
7. Sarai – The “peace and harmony” line; also the equivalent of vampire police, if that makes any sense. Just, wise, intelligent, noble.

The Gospel of J----

The original of our kind was born around 323 AA to a simple family that did not understand his dark gift. He grew up into a strong young man, but when he reached his fifteenth year his gift struck in earnest, breaking time’s chokehold on him.

The first he turned was his younger brother, Jiardo, when J---- realized he was halted at fifteen, but could only wait until his brother was sixteen. Their town, seeing a difference between the siblings and themselves, exiled them.

In the desert, the two met a man hiding out at an oasis. On their first night together around the campfire, J---- first fed on him, then turned him. Jiardo, horrified, ran into the desert. J---- spoke with the man, Djarvik, and realized his folly in turning the man, for he was a criminal, both ruthless and duplicitous.

Disgusted, J---- continued on, leaving Djarvik to fend for himself. He was now determined to turn someone who would not leave him, who would not fault him for what he had no control over.

He met a young woman named Avera in a town many years later. She was intelligent and beautiful, and J---- felt as if she would understand him. With this in mind, he turned her. But what he hadn’t seen was that Avera was petty, impulsive and prone to selfishness. Yet, Avera did not leave his side. She was a good companion to him, and they continued on through the ages together.

Time continued on, and as the high age of Rome came upon the world, J---- and Avera came upon a fine man, named Darius, chivalrous and good, who had been betrayed by his republic. Taking his story to heart, J---- turned him, and Darius pledged undying fealty to him and his cause, and remained with J---- for many years, fulfilling his oath to the best of his abilities.

Again, the world passed before them. J---- wondered about Jiardo, his beloved brother. He wondered about Djarvik, his horrible mistake. Penitent, he and his companions roamed the land, until they came upon another man at a campfire.

Shadows swarmed about the man, a sorrow so deep it tugged at J---- and his gentle heart. The man recounted a story of bloody war, betrayal and revenge, and begged J---, in his never-ending mercy, to either slay him or turn him, for he could not avenge his people any other way. J--- agreed, and the man, Vlatos, was turned that very night.

But J---- had been deceived. Vlatos went mad from the new power, massacring and burning not only his enemies but also his own people.

Disgusted, J---- left, but Avera was disgusted with his actions, and left their small party to try and twist the world to her own ideals.

J---- and Darius roamed the world once more, humanity ebbing and flowing beneath them. After many years J---- grew weary, so they approached a city with high walls and higher towers. The gates were strong, but Darius broke them open in one fell strike of his great sword. The lord of the city, named Lazaro, came upon them like a furious storm, but J---- would not permit his companion to harm the man.

J---- wanted a period of peace. What Lazaro wanted was an undying quest for knowledge. And so, the bargain was struck, and J---- turned the lord.

Years of peace continued on, until the lord’s people revolted. J----, Darius, and Lazaro were thrown out of the city’s looming gates, and once again they roamed the world.

Once again, J---- was struck by his guilt over Djarvik, his regret over Jiardo, his disgust over Vlatos, and determined he would turn but one more mortal, one who would watch and guide his others and their unholy offspring, and so he set out to find the just one. Lazaro did not see the point in it, and left to pursue his lust for knowledge alone.

Darius and J---- found their just one in a small village led by a single young woman named Sarai. Their interview of her was long and thorough, lasting almost two years, until J---- was certain this was his just one, and he asked her to watch over his kind, to guide them and guard the innocent mortals from his mistakes. Sarai, having seen the sincerity, agreed readily, and without another moment passing J---- turned her.

As Sarai set out to fulfill her task, J---- realized that he knew very little about his descendants, little about what had become of his brother, and little about what his mistakes had become. He turned to Darius, and asked his companion to leave him, to watch and fulfill his duty from afar, because J---- felt this was his journey alone.

Darius, who could never deny his lord anything, reluctantly agreed. With one farewell kiss to his companion, J---- walked away, into the endless world, alone for the first time in a very long time.

Even now, J---- roams the planet, watching, guarding and guiding as he is watched and guarded by Darius, from afar, with gently judging eyes.

(OMG I slashed J---- with Darius and I am SO going to burn in Hell...and it's SO worth it...)
