Dude, I just drabbled Hana/Cain. That was disturbing. So was that episode of Doctor Who, but in a much, much better way.

The tea was out again. The Kage always, as Cain had learned, started things out with a cup of tea. At least this time there weren't scowls. A nervous little smile on Glitch's lips to his left, a nostalgic look on Hana's in front of them, and his own anxious glances, from each of them and then to the front door.

"You're calling her Yuki?" Hana asked.

"Yes, Mother," Glitch responded, a note of fondness creeping easily into his voice. "Pure as snow, this one. We'd be honored if you would look upon her as you looked upon her parents. As family."

Cain knew he was probably sweating. If Hana said no, she was still leading the entirety of the Kage. If the eldest in their little makeshift Kage family refused to acknowledge the girl, she'd never be able to do what DG had. It astounded him sometimes, the difference one generation could make in the eyes of the Kage.

But Hana didn't even hesitate, simply smiled slightly and nodded over her tea. "Yuki is an excellent name. From the darkest family line can come the purest of souls, after all." She made it official by actually bowing to them. "I would be honored to accept such a child into my home."

Glitch actually got up and hugged his mother, and Hana's old hands clutched at her son's, the woman smiling straight at Cain. "Please, Wyatt, invite her in?"

Cain grinned right back, practically stumbling over himself to get to the front door, where the young girl they were calling Yuki was sitting, glaring at the Kage boys making fun of her dress in a language she didn't understand. "Come on, darling," Cain grinned, sweeping her up and into the house and earning a delighted laugh from it as she was carried into the house. "Now, toe off your shoes. You have to be very respectful-"

"She's my great granddaughter, Wyatt Cain, that gives her the right to do anything I give her the right to do," Hana said. "Which, for today, includes running mud all over the floor."

While Cain and Glitch both stared, stunned, at Hana, she pulled Yuki close, smiling and looking into her face. "Blue eyes," she noted, and smiled. "Must run in the family."

And the little girl smiled back at Hana, as bright as sunlight reflected off of snow.

Um, no. Because then it would be Granddaughter, not Great-Granddaughter.

Hana -> Glitch -> DG is the official straight-down-the-tree "Kage Family Line". With the Cains, it's:

Hana -> Glitch(xWyatt Cain) -> DG + Jeb Cain

SO AT THIS POINT SHE'S ONLY GOT NON-BIOLOGICAL GRANDCHILDREN, although DG is kind of between daughter and granddaughter. But according to Kage, this is The Line. Yuki would be the next generation, meaning she has at least one parent related to DG or Jeb.
